Mr. Porter, Origin of my fashion life
Everyone have their own story in cutting their teeth on fashion brands.
I start with several factors, but the most important one is retail channel.
In Hong Kong, buying fashion is a piece of cake.
Official stores and Department stores are right next to you.
Of course, buying fashion in stores is convenient.
But online searching is more attractive.
No traditional boundaries. No intangible pressure. No space limitation.
Online shopping gives more freedom to me.
I can study each design freely and make cross brands comparison.
Mr. Porter is the first men's luxury fashion website I aware.
I believe lots of people heard of this name because of their collaboration with Kingsman.
When compare with other online channel,
Mr. Porter is actually an easy entrance for men's luxury fashion.
Mr. Porter is from England, a men's luxury fashion retail website.
In contrast, Net-A-Porter is for women's.
Both belong to the same group, a well-known luxury fashion retail group.
Among online luxury fashion retailers, I believe Mr. Porter has a relatively good procedures and package.
Mr. Porter product assortment mainly focus on multi-use, don't have much "Ultra-Fashionable" product.
The overall feeling given to consumer is "Living with Style".
Mr. Porter product select from work wear, causal wear to sport wear,
the products are relatively more "subtle", it is easy to find something suit for multiple occasion.
Price is another important concern.
Generally, Mr. Porter pricing is lower than official but sometimes maybe the same.
Lower price maybe result from rental, tax, exchange rate or logistic cost.
Still, it is an advantage in buying fashion on Mr. Porter.
Why I said Mr. Porter has a good procedures and package because the whole shopping experience is all rounded.
For website function, Mr. Porter not only provide channel for shopping
but with added service, like wishlist, low-stock notice, 1-to-1 customer advise.
About product presentation, description, size measurement and FAQ, they presented so clearly.
The common problem and concerns about online shopping are well-answered in FAQ,
including shipping, return, refund, security.
For shipping fee, every Hong Kong order is free shipping, with DHL.
But transportation restricted item cannot be shipped to Hong Kong,
which is pressurised or flammable items.
From my personal experience, every order come with documents and return guide.

Every year has different starting day but commonly after father's day and during Christmas holiday.

Obviously, such policy make a situation that no significant price reduction other than sale period.
If they have, it will only be free shipping, but Hong Kong is already free shipping anytime.
In overall, Mr. Porter make everything so systematic, don't have chance to have error,
it is suitable for consumer that require stable and safe.
